Reasons I Love Instagram Stories – Sorry Snapchat!

       When Instagram stories were released, I was just as skeptical as everyone else. I thought they would never work in competition to Snapchat and I assumed they would go away to be honest. With Snapchat so popular, I never saw Instagram stories catching on especially with the negative attitude they brought with them. However, in the last few months I have grown to really love Instagram stories and all the great features they have! Check out my list below on why I love Instagram stories!

1. They are on Instagram! - First of all, I have always been an Instagram lover. I use Snapchat, but Instagram is my first love and I use it much more often to communicate and share about my life. So, the fact that I can now share stories on Instagram is great. I can share the same kind of content but not even leave Instagram.

2. Writing Abilities – Sometimes you need text to put what you want to say. However, I love the creative ability Instagram gives you with their different pen options when writing your own message. They have an array of colors along with four different pen options.

3. Stickers! – Instagram’s stickers are such a great addition and I love using them. They have unique stickers to add to your picture, but my favorite ones are the stickers you can customize. They have a sticker with the temperature, a location you can add, a hashtag you can type or even just the time of day. They make any picture fun with festive stickers or even emojis you can add to your images or videos!

4. Boomerang, Boomerang, Boomerang! – This feature has always been unique to Instagram and a fun addition to any post. With the repetitive nature of the short glimpse in time, it can make anything fun and interesting.

5. Filters – I am not sure how to explain why I like their picture filters more than Snapchats other than saying…I just like them better! They fit my style better and I like the way they change my pictures.

6. Links – I love that Instagram decided to add links in Instagram stories for certain users. I like that it is still limited, but I love being able to follow my favorite blogger and click right to her outfit!

Overall, I still use Snapchat for some things. If I had to choose though, I would definitely choose Instagram eight out of ten times. The 9th and 10th time I would choose Snapchat for it’s face filters and Bitmoji features. I have to admit that they are still the best out there on face filters. Their Bitmoji is also a great concept that I love to experiment with.
