Canva!

As a student in the communications field, I am constantly putting out marketing material. From social media images, to graphics for a newsletter, these images can add to my content. Over the last year I have worked with a program called, Canva. This allows me to create my own ideas and graphics with various features. I really enjoy the program with it’s easy to use functions, abundance of layout options and the ability to make each graphic your own. This program is great for people without a graphic design background. It allows for you to base graphics off pre-made design layouts. From there, you can put your brand design twist on the layout by changing the color, text, font and even add your own layout characteristics as well.

Canva is a great program and I am always surprised it is still mostly free. There are options to pay for more elaborate or popular layout options. However, I think the free options are great for design and are easy to stick to. Canva is great for designing an array of graphics from fun animated graphics for social media to annual reports for a company.

Overall, I recommend Canva to anyone looking to start designing graphics of their own. I have had a great experience with the program and think it is a great thing for anyone to try out. You can update your social media posts or make your next presentation agenda look more professional.
