Just Because I Love Christmas, Doesn't Mean I Hate Thanksgiving!
Just Because I Love Christmas, Doesn’t Mean I Hate Thanksgiving!
The first of November each year brings out an entire new season for many Americans. I have seen Christmas sweaters, heard Christmas music, and even seen Peppermint flavored coffee in the stores. When Halloween is over, most people start to feel the Holiday Spirit! As a student who is in the ONU Holiday Show, Christmas season started for me when rehearsals started in October. But I have to say, it wouldn’t matter either way. I am ready for the holidays to begin!
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year and my favorite holiday. It is centered around family and friends, good food, time off from work and school, time to relax and time to focus on the religious meaning of Christmas. People seem to be a little happier, a little kinder, a little more giving and overall in a better mood. I love Christmastime and want to get my full two months of it!
However, this does not mean I do not love Thanksgiving! I love Thanksgiving and the time with family that it brings. I think the holiday is down to earth and full of family time. My family tends to have Thanksgiving dinner Thursday and then we decorate for Christmas the Friday following. We get a real tree and decorate our entire house from head to toe with Christmas. I am so thankful for a family who enjoys being together, eating good food and enjoying the holiday season.
I would love to hear your opinion. Do you celebrate Christmas before Thanksgiving? What are your thoughts?
